Marketplace terms
Last updated 2 November 2026
Payments run in Stripe’s test mode for now. A skill or a playbook is bought with one of Stripe’s test cards, and no money moves, so no fee is kept, no tax is withheld and no invoice is issued. Everything else on this page applies already. Before real payments start, we email every account that set up selling or bought a skill or a playbook at least two weeks ahead.
These terms add to the terms of use for selling and buying skills and playbooks. Where the two differ about a sale, these terms apply.
Who sells to you
We do: Code Art Web Solutions S.R.L. (BaseTech), CUI 50223815, Iordăcheanu, Prahova county, Romania. You buy every skill and playbook from us, at our checkout and in our name, and your contract, receipt and invoice are with us. Its author lets us sell it, as “What a seller agrees to” below says, and Stripe, our payment provider, takes your payment for us.
Who can sell
- Any account holder based in Romania: a company, a self-employed person (PFA, II or IF), or a private individual. We do not take sellers based anywhere else yet.
- You set up selling on the Sales page of your dashboard. There you tell us how you are taxed and the name you are taxed under, and, as a private individual, your CNP. We open your account with Stripe, and you finish it on Stripe’s own pages.
- Finishing your account on Stripe’s pages means you accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, a contract between you and Stripe. Stripe decides what it needs to verify you, and whether to accept, restrict or close your account. We cannot change its decisions.
- You can price your skills and playbooks once Stripe has accepted your account and you have told us how you are taxed. While Stripe restricts your account, or before you tell us, your skills and playbooks cannot be bought.
Prices
- You set a price for each skill or playbook, in euros, from €1.00 to €1,000.00. Without a price it is free. You can change a price or make it free again at any time; one we remove loses its price.
- The price a buyer sees is the price they pay. We are not registered for VAT (art. 310 of the Romanian Fiscal Code), so no VAT is added to it.
- A skill with a price shows its page with the price instead of SKILL.md: its description, the names and sizes of its files and what the security check found, without the text it matched. Only its buyers read SKILL.md and download it. Whoever downloaded it while it was free keeps that copy.
How a sale is paid out
- Of each sale we keep a fee of 15% of the price. Stripe sends the rest, less any tax withheld (next point), to your Stripe account and pays it out to your bank on its own schedule.
- If you sell as a private individual, the law treats what we pay you as income from intellectual property, and we must withhold income tax from it: 6% of what is left after our fee (10% after a flat 40% allowance, art. 72 of the Fiscal Code). We pay that tax for you and declare it, with your name and CNP, in our monthly return (D112). A company or a self-employed seller has nothing withheld and pays its own taxes.
- What you tell us about how you are taxed must be true, and you change it on your Sales page before it stops being true. If it is wrong, and we owe tax we did not withhold because of it, you pay that tax back to us.
- Every amount is rounded to the cent. Your Sales page shows your latest 100 sales, each with its price, our fee, any tax withheld and your share.
- Any tax on what you earn, other than what we withhold, is yours to pay.
- When we refund a sale, your share of it is taken back from your Stripe account, and our fee goes back to the buyer. If a buyer’s bank reverses a payment after a dispute, we may take your share of that sale back too.
What a seller agrees to
- When you price a skill or a playbook, you let us sell copies of it to buyers, worldwide except the United Kingdom, for as long as it has a price. You keep every right you have in it.
- You give each buyer, directly, a lasting, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, copy and change their copy for their own work and their own projects, at work too. A buyer may not sell it, publish it or give it away. If the skill’s own files give a wider licence, that licence applies instead.
- You confirm that you have the right to sell what you sell, that its description is true, and that it keeps the rules under “Publishing a skill” in the terms of use.
- A skill or a playbook is plain text and files. Once a buyer has it, it can be copied, and nothing technical can stop that. Sell only what you accept being copied.
- We may remove a skill or a playbook that breaks the terms of use or the law, and suspend its seller’s account, as those terms describe: we email you the reason and how to contest it. A removed skill or playbook cannot be sold, and its buyers can no longer download or open it.
- Its buyers can review a skill, as “Reviews, stacks and playbooks” in the terms of use describes. You cannot hide or change a review; you can report one that breaks those terms.
- A skill or a playbook someone bought stays available to its buyers: if you delete it, or your account, it leaves your dashboard and the site, and stays for them, a skill with all its saved versions and a playbook as you last saved it.
Buying a skill
- You buy a skill from its page in Community, signed in, by card through Stripe’s checkout, where you give your billing name and address. Before you pay, you tick a box there: you agree to the terms of use and these terms, you ask for the skill to be supplied at once, as a download, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.
- We then email you a receipt, which confirms that consent and that acknowledgement, and send your invoice separately. You download the skill’s latest version from your purchases, as often as you need, later versions its author saves included.
- Your purchase stays when the skill’s author changes it, makes it private or deletes it, deletes their account, or has their account suspended: you keep downloading the latest version they saved.
Buying a playbook
- You can also buy a playbook with a price, the way you buy a skill, behind the same box, which for a playbook asks for it to be supplied at once, in your account. Its page shows its name, tagline and stage names, how many steps and skills it has, and what the security check found; only its buyers, and the members of a team its author shares it with, read it whole, and nobody can copy it. A copy of a curated playbook or of someone else’s cannot be priced, unless we removed the original and its author then deleted it. Whoever copied it while it was free keeps that copy.
- You then open it from your purchases, as often as you need, as its author last saved it, without the steps that name a skill Community no longer lists in public, and apply it with the sync CLI until its author deletes it or their account.
- Buying a playbook gives you the playbook, not the paid skills it names: each of those is bought on its own page.
- What this page says about a skill you bought applies to a playbook you bought.
Where we do not sell
We do not sell to buyers in the United Kingdom. Checkout does not open for a visitor whose connection comes from there, and a payment whose billing address or card is from there is refunded automatically, with an email that says why. If that is a mistake, write to us and a person looks at it.
Withdrawal
- A consumer in the European Union can usually withdraw from a purchase made online within 14 days. A skill or a playbook is supplied at once, because you ask for that at checkout and acknowledge that you then lose that right, and our receipt confirms both on a durable medium. Once it is supplied, the right of withdrawal ends (Directive 2011/83/EU, art. 16(m); Government Emergency Ordinance 34/2014, art. 16 letter m).
- If you think your purchase was different, you can still send us a statement of withdrawal through the withdrawal form (“Retrageți-vă din contract aici”), linked at the bottom of every page, or by email. If the order number and email address you give match your purchase, the form emails you an acknowledgement, normally within minutes, and a person answers within 14 days; if no acknowledgement arrives, write to us. When a withdrawal stands, we refund the whole payment within 14 days of receiving it, to the card you paid with.
Refunds and faults
- We refund a payment automatically when you buy a skill or a playbook you own already, when, while you pay, its author deletes it and nobody else bought it, or we remove it, and when the payment is from the United Kingdom.
- A skill or a playbook must match its description and work as it says. If it does not, you have the remedies the law gives for digital content (Government Emergency Ordinance 141/2021): we bring it into line with its description where we can, and otherwise you can have the price reduced or the contract ended with a refund. Write to contact@basetech.ro with your order number and what is wrong.
- Access to what you bought stops if we refund the payment in full, if we remove it for breaking the terms of use or the law, and while you dispute the payment with your bank. If the dispute ends in our favour, access comes back; if it ends in yours, it stops for good.
Stopping
- You can stop selling a skill or a playbook by making it free again. Those who bought it keep it.
- Deleting your account deletes your skills and playbooks except those with a paid or disputed purchase that we have not removed, keeps those for their buyers as described above, and asks Stripe to close your Stripe account. The records of your sales stay, with your legal name and CNP where tax was withheld, as the privacy policy says.
Complaints
Write to contact@basetech.ro about any purchase or sale. As a consumer, you can also turn to the Romanian consumer authority, ANPC (anpc.ro), or to an alternative dispute resolution body through reclamatiisal.anpc.ro. The privacy policy says what selling and buying mean for your data.
